Es el Jefe del Institute of Polymeric Materials and Testing (IPMT) de la Johannes Kepler University of Linz, en Linz, Austria. Es graduado en la University of Leoben, en Leoben, Austria, con grado Dipl.-Ing. en Ingeniería y Ciencia de los Polímeros. Obtuvo su Ph.D en la Lehigh University en Estados Unidos. Laboró en la BASF AG, liderando investigaciones en compuestos avanzados, en 1991 se convirtió en Profesor en la University of Leoben y también como Director del Polymer Competence Center Leoben (PCCL). Es autor y coautor de más de 230 publicaciones.

Actualmente se desempeña como Director de Proyectos de la plataforma de proyectos de investigación austriaca SolPol, centrándose en innovaciones relacionadas con polímeros para tecnologías solares.

At present he is Head of the Institute of Polymeric Materials and Testing (IPMT) at Johannes Kepler University of Linz, in Linz, Austria. Professor Lang graduated in 1978 at the University of Leoben, Austria with a Dipl.-Ing. Degree in Polymer Engineering and Science, and he obtained a PhD Degree in 1984 at Lehigh University (USA). He then joined BASF AG (D), holding a research and group leader position in the field of advanced composites. In 1991 he became Full Professor at the University of Leoben (A). Acting also as Director of the Polymer Competence Center Leoben (PCCL). He is author and co-author of more than 230 papers and and his research focus in the fields of “Mechanics, Fracture and Fatigue of Plastics and Polymer Composites” and “Polymeric Materials & Sustainable Development”. He currently acts as Project Director of the Austrian research project platform SolPol, focusing on polymer related innovations for solar technologies.
